To supplement a mailing sent out last week about the decision in reversing the sides, we’ve added an online poll to the left. Cast your vote to help the board understand the interest in this topic.
There are several reasons for not supporting the reversal of sides.
a. The Pro Shop is able to control the 1st tee in its present setting. Reversing the sides would eliminate any type of control over golfers teeing off. This would include reciprocals vs. members.
b. Tournaments without shotgun starts would be difficult to manage.
c. If something is needed from the Pro shop, it is much easier with the 1st tee off as it is.
d. Members are now conditioned to playing the course in its current state. Disrupting this would be much like Battle Island (as I heard they are going to reverse the sides to what was in place for many years).

I support reversing the sides. Presently the members control themselves off the first tee with never any incidents. Number 9 would make a great finishing hole as to opposed to our present par 3.

I am opposed to reversing the sides. I believe the current system of “reversing the sides” for tournament play is adequate and still allows for the benefits and convenience of the current configuration.
No facilities exist near the back nine (seating areas, restrooms) waiting for your tee time
Space is limited for golfers waiting to tee off or watching golfers tee off
Members arriving for golf have no idea of the number of golfers waiting for availability of tee
Practice facilities are not convenient and cannot be used waiting for your tee time
