A few notes from the Assistant Golf Professional on our club repair services for the 2008 Season:
We will be entering the season with a stronger starting grip inventory then usual for 2008. I will make certain that any grip requests regarding “in-stock” grips are completed within two days. Special order grips can be selected and will require a four day time period for completion. It is impossible for me to carry every grip on the market with so many to choose from these days. Please do not hesitate to contact me now if you know at some point during the season you may want to change your grips. I can be reached at (315) 439 - GOLF. It is important to me that I make this a priority for the 2008 golf season and I apologize to those whose requests were delayed in the past.
In addition, any club repair or upgrades to shafts with your existing equipment will be done off premises. I do not have the work space available to me here at Oswego Country Club to complete these services on site. I will attempt to repair only steel shafted clubs on site.
Taking into consideration the modern technology of golf clubs today, some manufactures purposely design their equipment so it has to be sent to them to be fixed. This process, however, can take upwards to three weeks. The advantage to this is that, if indeed your equipment was damaged under normal conditions, I may be able to get the club fixed for you at no charge. However, you will be required to pay any accrued shipping charges.
Any simple improvements to your equipment, with the exception of fitting changes, are going to require one weeks time to complete. These upgrades, such as lie, loft and shaft changes will be subcontracted. The costs of today’s graphite shaft technologies is so much greater then when Mr. Lisk use to carry shafts, that I cannot keep a large inventory readily available. I will happily spend time with any individual who wants to be properly fitted for an improved shaft before having any changes made; this can be done by appointment. I have a direct relationship with a master club repair professional in Syracuse who I will work hand in hand with to make certain these services remain available to you.
Furthermore, I am excited about our STATE OF THE ART fitting system we will have courtesy of Taylor Made. This will be the most progressive technology we have ever had in terms of fitting here at Oswego Country Club. Fittings are indeed free of charge when purchasing your equipment from Oswego Country Club Pro Shop. We have tools to fit you for every club in your bag, putter to driver! I wouldn’t go and buy a suit without having it custom tailored for me. Feel free to schedule an appointment with Jon or myself for your future club needs!
Lastly, both Jon and myself will be available for private instruction throughout the season. With the increased participation in leagues, the number of tournaments we host, and the number of clinics we provide, lesson times are very limited for the 2008 season. We are looking forward to helping as many people as possible, please come see us to get on schedule. Not to mention, all of those that we have had the pleasure to work with in the past, your lesson never ends…we are always excited to help you! Our 2008 lesson rates will be posted in April’s newsletter.
