On Monday, June 30th the Oswego CC’s annual Summer Scramble officially took on corporate sponsorship with Step One Creative. Besides this exciting news, the tournament also posted its largest turn out and lowest winning score. From a field of 26 teams (104 golfers) Team Carpenter (Chris Carpenter) shot a 15-under par 56 on the Oswego CC par 71 layout. Finsihing in second was Team Babcock (Joe Babcock) with a 57. Following in third was Team Stepien (Shane Stepien) with another 57. Rounding out the Top 5 with scores of 59 & 60 were Team Callen and Team Murney.

Tom Roman Jr., Gary Pace, and Bill Farden were Closest to the Pin winners, with Dan Rose recording the Longest Drive on #9.

Tournament director, Ed Fayette, thanked Jon Fowler and Will Weimer along with their staff from the pro shop, Scott Peters and his grounds crew, and new tournament sponsor- Step One Creative, for a successful day of golf.  Step One Creative has signed on to sponsor the event for the next three years, with exciting plans already in the works for the 2009 tournament.

A reminder: Teams that had their picture taken on Tee #2 can request a copy of the picture by emailing efayette@twcny.rr.com . 

The annual Father-Son Tournament, scheduled for this Saturday, June 14th, has been cancelled due to low participation.

Originally scheduled for a 1:30 shotgun, the course is now Open for normal play.

The tournament will be taken off the 2009 schedule. If anyone would like to chair a revised version of the event, please contact the Golf Committee during between October 2008 - January 2009.

A reminder to the membership of the Oswego CC:
The Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 18th at 3pm. 50 valid memberships must sign in, in order to have the meeting. Please consider coming along with another member to assure we have a quorum. The 2008 budget will be announced, new Board members will be elected, and future plans of the Club will be reviewed, with an opportunity for Q&A. Any questions, please contact a Board member.
