Men’s Golf Clinic on August 5th

Here’s your chance to get rid of those issues plaguing your game! The Golf Staff will hold a Men’s Clinic on Thursday August 5 at 6 PM at the OCC Driving Range. This session will focus on your Full Swing fundamentals.

Men’s Member-Guest is August 13-15. This is the perfect opportunity to put the finis…hing touches on your game so you can bring that victory home! In addition, you are welcome to invite your guest participant for Member-Guest to the clinic with you. Please call the Pro Shop in advance to sign up. Cost for the clinic is $20.

Ladies’ Golf Clinic

The weekly Ladies’ Clinic is coming to a close and we urge everyone to take advantage of the professional instruction available to them at OCC. At 6 PM on Wednesday July 21, we will be offering Full-Swing instruction at the driving range. Bring all your clubs and we’ll help you with your dr…iver, fairway woods, hybrids, or irons.

At 6 PM on Wednesday July 28, we will be offering any interested ladies On-Course Instruction to help you with your game management and how to hit from those uneven lies, fairway bunkers, and trouble shots.

Please call the Pro Shop to sign up for the July 28 session so that we may properly staff this session for you. Cost for each session is $20. It should be a great time for everyone!

The Golf Staff at OCC wants to send a reminder to all members to be very careful with these oppressive heat conditions. It takes absolutely no time for your body to become dehydrated in these conditions. While many are used to walking, this is the time to consider taking a cart so the hills don’t take their toll on you. Drink more fluids than normal and if you sense even the slightest problem, you must let someone know so we can respond accordingly.

Saturday, July 10th and Sunday, July 11th.

Cost is $150 per team – skins included.

Calcutta to be held after Saturday’s round.

Golf lessons at Oswego CC paying off

Summer is in “full swing” and some members deserve special recognition for taking control of their golf game with the pool of PGA instruction available at OCC.

After our first Ladies Clinic on putting, Deana Masuicca shaved 10 strokes off her score the next time she played.

We then worked on the full swing and Irene Molinari popped in the Pro Shop to tell us she cut 15 shots off her average 9 hole score!

As if that wasn’t enough, Dawn Moreau bested everyone by cutting a whopping 25 shots off her best score by shooting a 96.

Congratulations ladies and everyone keep up the good work!

I would like to point out an error in this year’s Member Handbook. The last paragraph under “Option 1” of “Section 2.02” of the By-Laws should read as follows:

“New members with golfing privileges accepted on or after November 1 but before July 1 shall be entitled to five (5) free green fees if full payment of dues and fees is received within ten (10) days of billing. New members with golfing privileges accepted on or after July 1 shall be entitled to three (3) free greens fees if full payment of dues and fees is received with ten (10) days of billing. All free greens fees must be used on or before the end of the fiscal year (October 31).”
