Well another Invitational has come to its close. The course played difficult both days, bearing only one score under par for the weekend. The condition of the golf course was revered as second to none by the field of players from surrounding golf courses in the Central New York area. After day one the field was flighted into five flights total.
Winning the 5th flight of the tournament was Oswego’s Billy Austin, following a first day score of 87 with a strong comback of 76. Runner up was Ed Conroy who lost in a match of cards also shooting a second day score of 76.
The fourth flight was won by Tom Carroll shooting a two day total of 162.
The third flight champion was Joe Oddo posting a 83 - 77 = 160 total.
The second flight champion was Joe Tesori Jr posting a two day total of 151. Firing an even par round of 71 on day two.
The championship flight slated a final pairing of three of Oswego Country Clubs strongest golfers Joe Babcock, Patrick “Stoie” Donovan, and Chris Carpenter. The action was tight for the majority of the second day. When the round came to a close one Champion was left standing, Joe Babcock. Joe Fired a two day total of 144. Shooting 1 under par on the first day. Joe is now on pace for one of his strongest golf seasons ever. He won this years club championship, The Syracuse District Amateur Championship, and now the 2007 Oswego Labatt Invitational.

I would like to THANK YOU ALL for the BEST Tournament ever. Everything about the tournament was extremely well run it was an extremely classy yet very relaxing event. It was the type of tournament that makes you very proud to be a member of the club and very proud to be able to share that experience with my guest. My brother kept commenting on what a GREAT time he had and could not get over the fact that everyone made him feel as though he was a member of the club from the moment he arrived. All tournament long I heard only very positive comments from everyone I encountered member and guest alike. The course was in fantastic shape, the food was great, the service was excellent, the gifts were awesome, and the staff was very friendly and fun. I heard all of these comments and more I just wanted to make sure that you all knew how much your very hard work and long hours were very much appreciated.
Great Job / Great Tournament
Paul Kemper
